You have chosen the “perfect” set of hot fix crystals for use on your shirt. Using a hot fix applicator is the best tool for optimal results, so consider these first before using one if you’re only doing the task for the first time.
Consider the working surface. It has to be sturdy and flat, like a table top. A flat surface makes the application process much easier. For the first time applicator user, it’s recommended to test the thing out on a piece of cardboard or scrap material.
Next, choose the correct applicator tip size. It should be of the same size as the rhinestone. The sizes are etched onto the sides of the tip, so be sure to check that out. Screw the desired tip, turn on the applicator, and wait for it to heat up. Once it’s hot enough, you’re good to go.
Turn over the rhinestones with the crystal side upwards, then pick them up using the applicator. Gently place the tip over a rhinestone, but don’t press hard or it might stick to the applicator. Wait for the glue to melt (the crystal will start to “bubble” when this happens) place the crystal over the fabric once it’s hot enough. Support the fabric so it doesn’t go with the applicator as you pull it away.
Remember to be cautious as both the freshly-applied crystals and the applicator tip are very hot. Repeat the process gently until you’ve finished filling up the design.
